Not Vital was born in Sent in Engadin, Switzerland, in 1948.
Driven by the wish to travel and move frequently, the artist today lives alternately in Switzerland, Italy, New York and Niger, where he produces various buildings and innovative sculptures in cooperation with the Tuareg in the city of Agadez.
Not Vital mainly creates sculptures and installations consisting of minimalist forms, while the artist's preoccupation with the culture of the Engadin and African customs becomes obvious only at second glance.

The latter consist of a total of one and a half minutes of “waste” from a German-language documentary production probably from around the year 1970 with the working title Tuareg.
From these out-takes, Sharp has extracted individual motifs, mainly static shots of simple events or poses, looped and rearranged them.

Aus den Out-takes hat Sharp einzelne Motive, meist statische Aufnahmen simpler Vorgänge oder Posen, extrahiert, geloopt und neu arrangiert.
