These two carnivores are officially harvested as trophies, their hunting quotas based on ( sometimes unrealistic ) population figures given by the farm owners or managers.
Besides these two large carnivores, small predators like caracal ( Caracal caracal ), cheetah ( Acinonyx jubatus ) and black-backed jackal ( Canis mesomelas ) are also included in the study and potential prey species like antilopes, warthogs or large birds as guineafowl considered as well.
