Ten new assistance systems support drivers in potentially dangerous situations, such as overtiredness, heavy traffic or in the dark, and are actively able to intervene if necessary.
ATTENTION ASSIST, for example, warns the driver if he is becoming tired, while DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control uses radar-based technology to monitor the distance to other cars, issuing a warning if it becomes too narrow and even applying the brakes independently in an emergency.
