Das Institut betreibt seit 1966 ein eigenes Laboratorium für magnetische Messungen auf dem Gelände der Bundesforschungsanstalt für Landwirtschaft ( FAL ) .
Es befindet sich bei den geographischen Koordinaten 52.2886 ° Nord und 10.4230 ° Ost.

Since 1966 the Institute operates an own laboratory for magnetic measurements at the site of the Federal Agricultural Research Centre ( FAL ).
It is located at the geographical coordinates 52.2886 ° North and 10.4230 ° East.

1991 wurde er Leiter des Instituts für Bodenbiologie an der Bundesforschungsanstalt für Landwirtschaft ( FAL ) in Braunschweig und Mitglied des Lehrkörpers an der TU Braunschweig .
Seit 1996 ist er Ordinarius am Lehrstuhl für Bodenökologie an TUM und Leiter des Instituts für Bodenökologie am, Helmholtz Zentrum München.

In 1991, he became Head of the Institute of Soil Biology at the Federal Agricultural Research Center (FAL) in Braunschweig and a member of the lecturing staff at TU Braunschweig.
