Statt einer Busstruktur, wie sie im NEXUS-System verwendet wird, erfolgt die Aufschaltung der Eingänge auf Ausgänge im NEXUS STAR über eine duale Schaltmatrix.
Mit dieser Schaltmatrix kann eine sehr hohe Taktrate gefahren, eine entsprechend große Anzahl von Zeitschlitzen betriebssicher realisiert und ein interner Datendurchsatz von mehr als 12 Gbit/s umgesetzt werden.

Instead of a bus configuration as used on the NEXUS system, NEXUS STAR includes a dual matrix for routing inputs to outputs.
This routing matrix allows for a very high clock rate and thus supports the reliable implementation of an accordingly large number of time-slots, resulting in an internal throughput of more than 12 Gbps.
