Wenig später stirbt der Professor urplötzlich – in einer atemberaubenden Szene verliert er sich in völliger Schwärze – und Yacine wird Eléonore ein eigenartiges Geständnis machen :
„ Ich bin nicht tot. “ Man könnte Mehdi Ben Attias zweiten Spielfilm als Geistergeschichte interpretieren, als Dreiecksverhältnis mit Seelenwanderung, sogar als Traktat über Klassenschranken und Diskriminierung.
Doch so einfach macht er es sich zum Glück nicht.

“ I am not dead ”. Mehdi Ben Attias ’ s second film can be interpreted as a ghost story, as a love triangle involving the transmigration of souls, or even as a treatise on class restrictions and discrimination.
Yet luckily the director isn ’ t willing to make things so easy, as Yacine ’ s identity remains pointedly inscrutable.
