1962 in St. Petersburg geboren, besuchte er das dortige Kunstgymnasium und die Kunstakademie, absolvierte dann ein Architekturstudium.
1990 kam er „ mit einem Handkoffer voll Zeichnungen “ nach Deutschland.
Wenige Jahre nach Eintritt in das Hamburger Architekturbüro nps, wurde er Partner.
