Der Mexikaner Mario Lavista schrieb „ Ofrenda ” zum Tod eines guten Freundes, in Anlehnung an die Tradition der Ureinwohner seiner Heimat, bei der Totenzeremonie einen Klagegesang auf einer Flöte erklingen zu lassen.
