www.didaktik.physik.uni-erlangen.deDa die Verstärkung radial und azimuthal polarisierter Laserstrahlung mit gängigen Verstärkerkonzepten aufwändig ist, wurden am IFSW in Zusammenarbeit mit dem LCFIO und Fibercryst Versuche zur Verstärkung von radial sowie azimuthal polarisierten Scheibenlasern im CW-Betrieb durchgeführt, um die Anwendbarkeit dieses Konzepts für die Verstärkung von ( ultrakurz gepulsten ) zylindrisch polarisierten Laserstrahlen zu untersuchen.
Dabei wurde in beiden Polarisationen in einem Einfachen Durchgang durch die SCF eine Ausgangsleistung von etwa 100 W erreicht, was bei einer Eingangsleistung von 32 W in etwa einem Verstärkungsfaktor von 3 entspricht.
Insbesondere die geringen Depolarisationsverluste, die bei Pumpleistungen bis zu 515 W demonstriert wurden, unterstreichen deutlich die Eignung von SCF-Verstärkern für hohe mittlere Leistungen.

Freitag ( IFSW ) has calculated the polarization and wavelength dependent absorptance of laser radiation on carbon fibers, carbon fiber preforms and CFRP by means of ray tracing.
The absorptance of carbon fiber preforms has a local maximum in the wavelength range between 355 nm and 532 nm of about 82% for a polarization perpendicular to the axis of the fibers (78% for polarization parallel to the fibers).
The absorptance drops to values below 50% for wavelengths around 10.6 µm.
