In Poxim findet sich auch der erste Hinweis auf Sklavenhaltung um 1829, und zwar von einem Portugiesen Pedro Vieira, Besitzer einer grossen Zuckerrohrplantage.
Er wird in den Gemeindeschriften beschrieben als " ziemlich alt, mit verheirateten Söhnen, schon Grossvater, der inmitten seines Zuckerrohres lebte wie ein glücklicher Satyr, der schwarze Nymphen jagte ".

The first hint of slavery in Poxim is from 1829.They talked about the Portuguese Pedro Vieira, owner of a large sugar plantation.
In of of the documents he is described as " really old, with two married sons, grandfather, who lives in the middle of the sugar plantation as an happy Satyr, who hunts black Nymphs."
