Der Teichwasserläufer ist mit seinem schlanken Körper, dem dünnen, geraden Schnabel und den langen, gelblichgrünen Beinen der grazilste Wasserläufer und erinnert etwas an einen Stelzenläufer.
Er bewohnt die Steppenzone von Südrussland bis an den Ostrand Mittelsibiriens und tritt bei uns nur in geringer Zahl auf, hauptsächlich im Frühjahr.

The Marsh Sandpiper is the most graceful sandpiper with its slim body, thin and straight bill and its long, yellowish-grey legs reminding one of a Black-winged Stilt.
It inhabits the steppe zone from southern Russia to the eastern edge of Central Siberia and only occurs in small numbers in our country, especially in spring.
