Da an dieser Art bisher keine genetischen Untersuchungen durchgeführt worden sind, werde ich eine Mikrosatellitenanalyse durchführen und die Primer selber entwickeln.
Durch diese Untersuchungen kann der Einfluss von Zufall und genetischer Drift auf die Hügelstruktur von Kompasstermiten ermessen werden und so ein Modellsystem für die Rolle des Zufalls in der Verhaltensökologie geschaffen werden.

The department of Behavioural Ecology and Evolutionary Genetics studies individual variation in behaviour with the aim of i) revealing why animal personality has evolved and ii) learning how this variation might be maintained, using wild passerine bird populations (great tits) as an experimental model system.
