Die Piste erstreckt sich auf 5,4 km und bietet eine lange Gerade von gut 1km, umgeben von künstlichem Gras, damit der Wüstensand nicht auf die Strecke weht.
Außer Sand und manchmal sogar Regen ist in Losail die Hitze einer der größten Widersacher der Piloten, denn sie müssen ihr Rennen in voller Ledermontur und Helm auf heißen Maschinen bei Temperaturen von bis zu 41 Grad und mehr bestreiten.
