Nachdem er 2010 zum Präsidenten des Clubs gewählt worden war, erforschte Huber die Geschichte des Clubs von Cape Coral.
Er fand heraus, dass der Club über 100.000 USD für die Kiwanis-Kampagne gespendet hatte, die praktisch zur Eliminierung von Jodmangelkrankheiten (IDD = iodine deficiency disorders) geführt hat.
„Mir wurde damals gleich klar, wenn wir das für IDD tun konnten, dann können wir das ganz bestimmt auch für das Eliminate-Projekt tun“, sagt er.

“I knew right then if we could do it for IDD, then we could certainly do it for The Eliminate Project,” he says.
