Petra Wagner trained as an industrial commercial manager ( Industriekauffrau ).
After gaining her university entrance qualifications ( Abitur ) and studying social sciences, sociology and business economics in Nuremberg und Bielefeld ( Dipl.-Soziologin ) she joined the legal department of the Städtische Werke ( Public Utilities ) Nuremberg.
Ms Wagner has been a scientific archivist at IAB since 1989.
