Moqueca is a fish stew made with leite de coco (coconut milk), dendê (palm oil from the seed of a feather palm that reaches 30 meters in height),tomato, bell pepper, dried shrimp, onions, coriander, and hot peppers. Originally from the Northeast and Bahia, it has become a characteristic of Brazilian cookery and may be found in many states of Brazil.
