Die GIZ arbeitet seit der Unabhängigkeit des Landes 1990 im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) sowie des Bundesministeriums für Umwelt, Naturschutz, Bau und Reaktorsicherheit (BMUB) mit Namibia zusammen.
1994 wurde in der Hauptstadt Windhoek ein Büro eröffnet.

GIZ has been working in Namibia on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) since the country gained its independence in 1990.
We opened an office in the capital Windhoek in 1994.

Im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung ( BMZ ) wird die GIZ zudem den Überlebenden der Katastrophe, die vielfach schwer verletzt und traumatisiert sind, sowohl mit medizinischer Hilfe als auch mit individuellen Hilfeplänen zur Sicherung ihrer beruflichen Zukunft zur Seite stehen.
Im Auftrag des BMZ und der Europäischen Union hat die GIZ in Bangladesch seit 2005 über 2.000 Betriebe mit insgesamt 1,5 Millionen Beschäftigten unterstützt.

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development ( BMZ ), GIZ will also assist the survivors of the disaster – many of whom are seriously injured and traumatised – with medical care as well as through individual plans designed to secure their livelihoods.
Commissioned by BMZ and the European Union, GIZ has supported more than 2,000 companies with a total of 1.5 million employees since 2005.
