Aller Anfang war schwer, die Rohstoffe und das Heizmaterial waren knapp und 300 Arbeiter und 20 Angestellte mussten beschäftigt werden. Auch die Geldentwertung war verheerend. Die Exportmärkte mussten neu akquiriert und aufgebaut werden.
Durch stilistische Erneuerung des Angebotes und einer Preisanpassung zu Gunsten der Kunden, gelang es der Familie Carstens die Exportmärkte neu zu beleben.

Unser wichtigster Rohstoff ist Akazienholz, das sich wegen seiner Krümmung usw. nicht für die Holzindustrie eignet und bisher vor allem als Heizmaterial gebraucht wurde.
Die natürliche Krümmung gehört zu Eigenschaften, die beim Material für unsere Produkte im Gegenteil hervorgehoben wird und sie ermöglicht, das Holz nicht nur als Energiequelle zu nutzen.
