Anorganische und biologische Träger wurden auf ihre Eignung als Pheromonmatrix getestet und mit einer Kapsel aus einer Kunststoffmembran verglichen.
Als Trägermaterialien wurden Kieselgel, Baumwolle, Filterpapier, Paraffinwachs, Paraffinöl, Maiskeimöl, sowie ölhaltige Samen ( Tafeltrauben, Sonnenblumen, Papaya, Melone ) untersucht.
Darüber hinaus wurde die Wirkung von in der Parfumindustrie eingesetzten Fixativa getestet:

Bei Normalbedingungen zeigten alle getesteten Träger außer Kieselgel vorteilhaftere Eigenschaften als herkömmliche Pheromondispenser aus Gummi.
