Der einsame Kirchturm des ehemaligen Dorfes Graun, das 1949 beim Bau des Reschenstausees in seinen Fluten versank, ragt einsam aus dem See und zählt zu den beliebtesten Fotomotiven Südtirols.
Hier oben beginnt auch das alpine Südtiroler Höhenmärchen, denn kein geringerer als „König Ortler“, mit 3.905 m der höchste Berg Südtirols, thront in diesem wundervollen Tal.
Zusammen mit der Ortler-Cevedale Gruppe und den Ötztaler Alpen hält er die Wolken auf und sorgt für über 300 Sonnentage im Jahr.
