From that time on Topaz is no longer associated with the colour green but with ( golden ) yellow.
In 1734 the German mineralogist and metallurgist Johann Friedrich Henckel diagnosed Topaz as being different from Quartz because of its different cleavage.
So Henckel was the first to apply the term Topaz to the fluorosilicate which bears the name today und who did not include other minerals as well.
